Hey, thank you for checking out my art. I appreciate it more than you know.

I’m Christine and I am an abstract artist based in Boston, MA.

At age four, Death scared me to death. There was nowhere to hide from Death. So I embraced it.I thought if I immerse myself in it, then I won’t be afraid of it. It would be my friend. Familiar. In doing so, I realized my love for all things on the darker side of life. I was comfortable with horror, the darkest of humor, the paranormal, true crime, vigilante stuff and serial killers soothed me. All the usual stuff us extra dark horror fans love. I was afraid of nothing. The sicker the better.

Turns out I was afraid of life.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                            As a teen I started drawing and then working primarily in acrylics. I’d put on music that expressed my feelings for me. Back then, I didn’t know why the odd often aggressive strokes I was making meant something to me, but they did. I felt the marks and lines and colors when I didn’t feel much else besides anger or being “the clown.” I didn’t consider myself an artist. I just knew I felt better with my music and my paint.

When the times I could not lift myself off the floor became more and more frequent, I stopped creating anything. It was physically and mentally impossible. And like most of us on Earth dealing with mental health issues, three different mental health  diagnoses mentally paralyzed me for over 18 years. The person I was disappeared. I only survived, barely existed. I’d tried a few times to paint something, but to no avail. I didn’t care. I sucked so why bother.

Now I’ve done and continue to do all the work on myself. I’m finally back even more sarcastic and spewing more dark humor than before. Not creating for almost 2 decades kills me, but I’m so grateful for the amount of material I have to work with. I am never stuck or confused because I have a billion stories to paint.

Each piece I create is either basically a form of RELEASE, a form of REVENGE or a form of REBIRTH.Through my work I’d like to grab you by the face and make you feel it. Make you need to get closer and see what’s deep down in there. Then, make you wonder is this girl is ok?

Yes, she is.

Because I make art again. And also because I crack myself up on the daily.

I'm your darkest light.

Oh, I’m a true Scorpio so maybe I should have just led with that.
